Talk to yourself once a day... otherwise, you may miss meeting an excellent person in this world.
- Swami Vivekananda
Hello friends,
You must be wondering that we are already grown and mature enough to understand things. What type of growth I am talking about? How it's going to help me?
Off late, I have realized one thing in my life growth is not only limited to
become rich, become a top shot in any organization, or having a lavish life. You may get all these things if you follow the principles if you are a true leader if you utilize your brain if you know what direction you want to give to your life. There are many more qualities. However, I am talking about the overall growth of an individual. If you have mastered yourself in this, everything will follow you. By everything I mean to say a lavish lifestyle, a successful career, etc. All you need to practice these 4 unique ways that will help you to grow.Let's see what are the 4 unique ways to grow yourself.
- Self-management
- Anger management
- Time management
- People management
Let's understand them one by one.
Self-management. This is the base of a new beginning of your life. You will be able to manage everything only if you learn how to manage yourself. Self-management is a very vast subject. If I start writing about it only, it will be a complete book. It all depends on how I portray myself in front of others. I still remember the first interview of my life. I ensured that I should be properly dressed. I should have information about the company, I should make eye contact with everyone interviewing me, etc, etc. Why I needed all this? I wanted to ensure I should be managed properly during the interview process. I cracked the interview and got the job. I would give you an overview of it. Self-management tells you
- How to utilize the hidden powers?
- How to invest in yourself?
- How to channelize your thought process?
- How to give a positive direction to your life?
In other words, self-management is finding yourself. You need to be disciplined, obedient, polite, energetic, active, happy, a problem solver, not a problem creator. People should always like your presence. They would love to be around if you have these traits. That's why self-management is important.
Anger management. We should always keep control of our anger because anger destroys everything. People don't realize the destruction they invite when they get angry. It not only destroys the work, but it also destroys your health, the relationship, the bonding of everything. Later on, we only regret it and but we do not get back anything. There is a small technique to overcome this issue. Take a deep breath and start counting in reverse order.
The best example here is Hitler, who because of his anger had to face huge defeat during the war with Russia. He was not aware of the weather condition and by the time his army troops intruded inside Russia, the weather changed completely. Hitler's army couldn't survive in the weather because they were not prepared for it. The anger of Hitler paid him back.
Time management. It's very important to give value to time. If you've read my previous article "Secrets of a True Leader - you must know." I've shared examples of few idols of India who have given value to time and got rewarded for it. Time flies faster. The best example is our life cycle. From an infant to old age we don't realize how fast time flies.
- Time management will help you to meet your deadlines
- to live a systematic lifestyle where you will enjoy every moment of life.
- to become more productive and will keep you energetic throughout life.
- to become an inspiration for others.
- to portray yourself effectively in front of others.
The best example here is Dominos who does delivery in 30 mins otherwise they deliver free pizza.
People management. We can't ignore this part also. We may be perfect in all other aspects but if we are unable to handle people around us, we would never be able to survive. The success of any organization depends on its people. That's why organizations do many things for their employees. Starting from medical insurance to incentives, from recognition to celebration. Many organization celebrates the family day. Many of them even conduct talent shows, contests where they appreciate their employees.
In nutshell, if you value people around you, they will value you. Let me share one beautiful example here. Recently, it rained heavily in Gurugram. I was coming back from work and went to a departmental shop to buy a packet of milk. I didn't realize that there was a pit. My car got stuck into it. I was tensed now. I asked the shopkeeper if he can help me in getting the car out of the pit. But he didn't. I called up the manager of my society and requested him if he can send some help to the spot. Though It was not far from my home so after 5 mins, I saw the Gardner (Mewalal) and the Security guard (Hiralal) came there to help me. We three took out the car from the pit and came back home.
Why the manager helped me and why did they come as it was heavily raining. It's just because of the reason that I follow the simple principle, Give respect and earn respect. I never forget to greet them whenever I go and step inside my society. I talk to them and appreciate their work too. Sometimes, I buy them some snacks if I am getting them for me. I don't do it out of any selfishness. I do it because I love doing it.
This is people management. If you'll care for your people they will care for you.
I hope now you would have got clarity about the 4 unique ways to grow yourself.
All the best!
Moloy
