We have heard this many times from others "Don't waste your time". Time is running and can't be stopped. Once the time is gone it will never come back. Many management gurus speak about time management. Everywhere it's all time.
This article will help us understand the
importance of time and also will discuss some tips to make the time favorable for us. Ready for it.Here we go.
Once there was a rich farmer. He was very wealthy and financially strong and used to help others. He was very happy and satisfied. His farming was growing day by day and he was increasing his profit. Then came a time, he hired few workers who were supposed to take care of his farming. Things were going the same way. But after few months, the business started going down. He didn't realize and ignored it. Time flew and his business started going down day by day. He lost his new assignments and was still not able to figure out what went wrong? According to him, everything was going pretty well and within time.
He was very upset and walking down the roadside. He was about to meet an accident suddenly, somebody saved him. He turned back and looked back. It was a saint. He thanked him and started moving on. The saint stopped him & asked him about his sadness. He opened his heart out in front of him. The saint remained silent for a while and asked him one thing to do from the next day.
The saint asked him to get up early in the morning and visit his fields. The saint asked him to walk around the entire farm field three times a day. Did he ask him why? He has workers to look after. The saint asked him to do what he asked for. He agreed and the next morning he went to his fields. He was shocked to see that there was no work there in the field to do the work. He was shocked and surprised. Upon asking the watchman, he was informed that the workers come at their own convenient time and don't care about the work. This guy didn't say anything and as advised by the saint, he came in the afternoon and evening too. The same thing happened.
Now, this guy realized his mistake. He didn't give value to time and this is all because of his bad time management. Being an owner, he never gave time in the field and didn't keep a check on his workers. As a result, his business went down and he had to face a huge loss.
The next day, he called up all the workers and warned them about their work schedule and he made a routine that he will be giving time to his field and his farming. Slowly and gradually, things came back on track and he was back in profit. Then one fine day, this saint met him all of a sudden and asked him about his life. He thanked him for the lesson and told him about the entire incident in detail.
The saint smiled back and said, "Dear Son. You give value to time and it will reward you back".
Interesting story right. So, friends, It is very easy to give lectures on time management to others. But why only successful people must know. Is it the case?
No, I don't agree. We all normally say that we don't have time to go to the gym, yoga classes, etc. to take care of our health. But when the doctor prescribes us by charging fees and giving medicines (which is again not free) we make it a schedule of our life that every day we'll have to give 1 hour for walk or yoga or exercise etc.
I would like to share one useful tip that has always helped me in managing my time. Let's see how we can do it?
Keep a reminder for you. (Nowadays, everyone has smartphones. You can add reminders for the entire day. Like the big people blocks their entire day calendar about the schedules and meetings. We can also do it.)
Don't postpone it. (Don't postpone it for the next day or later half. Believe me, it will never happen. Once the time will fly it will never come back.)
Remember, Time will reward you if you'll value it. (If I will finish my job on time, I won't be required to stay extra hours in the office and will give time to my family.)
Reward yourself. (I am not saying that you need to gift yourself a medal or something. You'll get a reward from others if you work on the above-mentioned points. Imagine, you reach home on time from the office and your kids, wife, and parents are very happy to see you back on time and you end up spending a good time with them. Isn't it rewarding.)
It will sound silly. Initially, it will be challenging but once you will be used to it, you will see a huge transformation in you. No one will be able to stop you. You'll be witness the reward from others by giving value to time. Trust me, these are tested and tried methods and it works.
I am a big fan of one of Akshay Kumar, (The Bollywood Actor). The entire Bollywood industry knows that he goes off to sleep by 9-9:30 pm and wakes up at 4:00 am every day. He always says that not a single day has gone by when he has not seen the rising sun. This one habit keeps him healthy and strong. When he can do it, why can't we?
A very common example from our family. Remember your childhood. Your mother used to get up every day early in the morning and getting you ready for your school. At the same time, she used to prepare your breakfast and lunch. Has she ever failed? The answer is No.
Therefore, I would like to conclude by saying that. Time will not wait for you. If you want to make time favorable for you remember this mantra.
"Give value to time & it will reward you back."
All the best!
Regards,
Moloy
